Celebrate Your Milestones!
This morning as I was walking from my kids school, I saw parents getting ready for 6th grade graduation and I started to get emotional. Why am I getting emotional my kids aren’t graduating? They are only in K and 2nd!
I was emotional because I know how much work it is to raise a child and all the milestones you go through. In one little being, (you hope) is an amalgamation of all your values, your vision, your love. To watch something that you created and nurtured, grow and develop is a beautiful and an amazing journey. Graduation-I’m not there yet, but I’m cheering with them because I know someday I will be and I can relate.
Celebrate Your Wins
In a way it’s like your business. Raising a child, growing a business- you go through stages and challenges, you meet those challenges and then you are faced with more. You laugh, you cry, you cheer, you fight, and you celebrate. At least you should celebrate.
It’s important to celebrate the milestones and take time to look back and reflect on moments in your life and your business. Things move so quickly, we move so quickly that sometimes it’s all a blur and that’s a shame. Because in the end it’s all about the moments that we remember with joy. Your wins, no matter how big or small deserve to celebrated.
So during this graduation time whether you are about to become an empty nester or just had a baby or don’t even have kids. Or whether you are starting a new business or trying to sell one. Wherever you are right now, take time to celebrate your milestones. In your life, your business, whatever. You deserve it.
And I will not downplay my wins either. My youngest just finished Kindergarten. As I sit here typing, I’m giving myself a pat on the back. I still have a long way to go, but that’s okay, it’s all part of the journey. It’s just like my business, this is just the beginning and I’m excited for what the future holds.
Thank you for joining me on my journey and I can’t wait to see where it takes us. Happy Friday and have a beautiful weekend.
