44 How to Emcee or Host a Virtual Event
“As an emcee and host you set the tone…you keep the audience engaged and connected, and you bring out the best in the speakers and the event. That’s a lot to juggle.” – Angela Chee
You’ve been asked to emcee or host a virtual event. Now what?
I’m up late prepping to emcee part of The Asia Professional Speakers Convention and thought it was the perfect time to take you behind the scenes and share my tips on how to emcee or host a virtual event. There is so much that an effective emcee can do in addition to simply introducing guests, reading off their bios, and thanking everyone for coming. And as an Only, this is a great opportunity to step up, gain more visibility in your company and industry, and make connections. You also get to set the tone for the event, keep the audience engaged, and bring out the best in the speakers who are being featured.
In today’s episode, I’ll share what you should prepare to emcee a virtual event, how to interact comfortably with other speakers, and how to keep your energy up throughout the event.
